Auto China, which is
held every two years, attracts much attention from the industry, media and the
public. Positioned as a perfect stage for image-promotion, promoting products
and brands, displaying high technology and exchanging information, the biennial
event has already become one of the most important automobile exhibitions in China.
With 20,000
sq.m. of display area, the first Auto China, held in 1990, attracted 372
exhibitors and 273 vehicles from seventeen countries and regions. A total of
100,000 people visited the show. Auto China 2004 saw its first world premiere
vehicles in Beijing
from multinational OEMs. The show was also listed as one of the A-class auto
shows that multinational automakers attend.
Auto China
2008 set many records: for the first time, the exhibition was held in
the New China International Exhibition Center, which covers
180,000 sq.m.; A total of 680,000 entries were logged by visitors,
30,000 of them
were from abroad. 2,100 exhibitors from eighteen countries and regions
took
part in the exhibition, including 225 from overseas; 10,120 reporters
from home
and abroad reported on the event; and 890 vehicles, including 55
concepts and 7
world debut vehicles from multinational automakers, were on show.
China,
with its soaring economy and the highest population in the world, is welcoming
a dynamic and prosperous automobile consumption market. In 2006, China became
the second largest automotive market and the third largest automobile
manufacturing country in the world. In the first quarter of 2009, the sales and
output of vehicle volume reached 2.56 million and 2.68 million units, up 1.91
and 3.88 percent respectively year-on-year. China is expected to become the
largest auto manufacturing and consuming country very soon. As one of the most
important emerging markets, China
has proved itself to be the most dynamic market in the world.
Auto China
2010 will be a good platform for OEMs and suppliers at home and abroad wishing
to communicate and expand co-operations in the largest emerging auto market.
