The
automobile industry will be fully represented at the next Geneva International
Motor Show in the spring of 2009. The organizers of the Show are delighted that
all of the major automobile manufacturers will be exhibiting in spite of the
alarming developments in the industry during the past few weeks. New for this
year will be the special arrangement of Hall 3 to allow specialist exhibitors
to present their latest developments in the area of electric and other
alternative methods of propulsion.
The 79th Geneva International Motor Show will welcome visitors from
March 5 – 15, 2009 at GENEVA PALEXPO. At this time, all of the areas for stands
have been allocated and the seven exhibition halls are completely filled, plus
a further 20 potential exhibitors are to be found on the waiting list.
A « Green Pavilion » will be exclusively dedicated to electric and other
alternative forms of propulsion.
The leaders of the organising team have developed a new display arrangement for
Hall 3. It will be exclusively reserved for exhibitors presenting electric and
other alternatively powered vehicles. Based on the idea that these technologies
merit a more wide spread presentation, both start-up specialists and companies
highly experienced in these areas will have an equal opportunity to present the
fruits of their research to the general public.
The Geneva International Motor Show is one of the « 5 Majors » of auto shows in
the world. It is the only motor show in Europe
that takes place every year, always in early springtime. Rolf Studer, General
Manager of the Show, is clear on his goal: “We know it is of key importance to
offer automobile manufacturers an attractive platform which guarantees them an
opportunity to efficiently present and communicate to the rest of the world. Every
year we welcome some 10,000 media representatives and more than 700,000
visitors, of which 37% come from more than 110 countries”.
