China Machinery Industry Federation
(CMIF) China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) is a
national social and economic organization for the machinery industry approved
by the Chinese government. Major members of CMIF include national specialized
associations, regional associations, intermediary units, and some large
enterprise groups. It has over 120 direct members and 77,800 indirect members
in China’s
machinery industry.
CMIF aims to carry out the state principles and policies,
report on the opinions, desires and needs of its members, and provide dual
services to both the government and the members. The continued prosperity of
the machinery industry is its primary concern, and it acts as the bridge and
link between government and enterprises, and the think tank and assistant to
support the government to initiate the related industrial work.
Major functions: - Investigation and research into the economic
operations and enterprise development of the machinery industry, representation
to the government of the opinions and requests of industry enterprises, and
offering of suggestions, proposals and consultation services for the
formulation of technical, economic and trade policies for the industry, as well
as for the industry’s restructuring.
- Analysis and publication of industry-related
technical and economic information, including conducting market forecasts and
providing information services to the government, enterprises, CMIF members and
intermediary units, etc.
- Organization and establishment of national and
industrial standards and technical norms for the machinery industry, and
publication and implementation of such standards and norms.
- Provision of diagnostic and consultation services
for quality inspection for machinery enterprises, and participation in
industrial quality certification and supervision management.
- Organization of industrial scientific and
technological achievement evaluation, and recommendation of candidates for
state-level scientific and technological achievement awards.
- Organization of the development of international and
domestic technical and economic cooperation and exchange with related
industrial organizations and companies.
- Organization of related industrial training and
business visits programmes.
- Organization of the coordination and presentation of
large-scale domestic and international exhibitions for the machinery industry.
- Drawing up of industrial regulations and agreements
to promote enterprise self-discipline, and to protect the integral interests of
enterprises and the legal rights of consumers.
CMIF is also

The Society of Automotive
Engineers of China
(SAE)
The Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE) was
founded in 1963. SAE China is a national and academic corporate body and a
non-profit organization composed voluntarily by enterprises, institutions,
incorporations and professionals in the fields of automotive and related
industries which focus on research, design, manufacture, education, sales,
management and so on. And it is also a member of FISITA (International
Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies) as well as one of the initiators
in organizing the IPC (International Pacific Conference on Automotive
Engineering), now renamed Asia Pacific Automotive Engineering Conference/APAC.
SAE China has become an indispensable and important force for promoting the
healthy and continuous development of the automotive industry through over 40
years of development and has been recognized by domestic and international
automotive industries, different social circles, government and nationwide
automotive professionals.
SAE China has tens of thousands of personal members
and hundreds of group members, with more than 20 professional committees, and
has established business guidance relationships with provincial societies of
automotive engineers. SAE China has become an important force for spreading new
ideas, exchanging new technologies and promoting the new conception of the
Chinese auto industry and also an important bridge for encouraging exchange
among the international auto industries.
