The Organization
Committee of Vietnam Motor Show 2009 officially announces that the biggest
automobile exhibition of the year will take place from19 to 23 November 2009 at
the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC). This is the fifth Vietnam
Motor Show organized by Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA).
The dates at
the end of the year, and the tentative signs of economic recovery, lead the
organizers to be cautiously optimistic about the situation in the market. Along
with a return to prosperity in the stock markets, the Vietnamese automobile
market is progressing well in terms of higher demand for small cars, especially
for domestically assembled ones. The VAMA, an organization of leading auto
makers in Vietnam, is
gearing up to organize a large-scale and lively exhibition to truly reflect the
developments and trends in the Vietnam
automobile industry. This industry has risen to meet the Vietnamese demand for
cars in terms of both quality and quantity.
Vietnam
Motor Show 2009 will be held at a brand-new venue – the Saigon Exhibition &
Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City. This place is one of Vietnam´s most modern,
beautiful and large-scale exhibition venues. Located in the Phu My Hung area,
the SECC's excellent, international-standard facilities to international
standard will meet all the requirements for organizing Vietnam Motor Show 2009.
According to the organization committee, the scale of the exhibition this year
is estimated to be bigger than that of 2008. The total display area will
increase by 20 percent, achieving 15,000 sq.m. with the participation of twelve
VAMA members including: Toyota Motor Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, Ford
Vietnam, Honda Vietnam, Isuzu Vietnam, GM-Daewoo, Vinastar, Mekong, Truong Hai,
VMC, Samco, Hino and more than 50 suppliers of spare parts from inside and out
Vietnam. The show is estimated to attract more than 120,000 visitors during
five open days.
Mercedes-Benz
set up a CKD production plant here early on, in 1995. Now it's the No.1 premium
car brand in terms of awareness and sales volume, with annual sales in the
country of over 1,500 passenger cars plus 1,400 vans every year. Mercedes will
bring their latest models to the show, including the new CGI engines that meet
Euro 5 emission standards, to form a 'Green area'. Apart from that,
Mercedes-Benz may also display an AMG car, to study the market demand for AMG
in Vietnam.
