electronica 2010: Trends and innovations in automotive electronics


Electric-powered vehicles not only protect the environment, they also offer high market potential for companies in the automobile industry. e-mobility is now reality. The international electronics industry will present the future of automotive electronics at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from 9 to 12 November 2010.
 
Around 20 percent of exhibitors at electronica 2010, the world’s leading trade fair for the industry, will present automotive solutions. The electronica automotive conference (8 and 9 November 2010), the Automotive Forum and the exhibition will create a worldwide unique event for automotive electronics and provide an extensive overview of the market and highly topical information.
 
Experts from the automobile, automotive component supply and electronics industries
The electronica automotive conference will be an ideal information and discussion platform for every top decision-maker wanting to know what automotive electronics will look like in future. Talks will be given by experts from the automobile, automotive component supply and electronics industries under the motto 'electronics meets automotive'.
 
The first day will focus on markets, developments and strategies from the viewpoint of decision-makers. It will be aimed, in particular, at managers. The electronica automotive conference will open with a talk by Brad Maggart, Delphi, on the following topic: 'Challenges and Opportunities in the Electrification of the China Auto Market'. The program will include other talks on e-mobility or questions relating to cooperation between automotive component suppliers and automobile manufacturers.
 
The focal point of the second day will be technologies for the target group of technical managers. The programme will feature two parallel sessions. The first session will deal exclusively with e-mobility while the second session will look at questions concerning communication, driver assistance and lighting. The following questions, for example, will be examined: Energy efficiency of electromechanical systems; Standard interfaces for charging electric-powered vehicles; Innovations in a 'green' automobile industry. The final talk will be given by Johann Hiebl, Continental Automotive, on the topic of 'Low Cost Electronics Success Factors'
 
The speakers during the conference will include other experts from BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen, Continental, Bosch, Leoni, Hella, Freescale Semiconductor, Tyco Electronics, Infineon Technologies, EPCOS and other companies.
 
The 'electronica automotive Forum' in Hall A6 will tackle the topics of automotive electronics during numerous sessions. Forward-looking technologies will be presented during short talks and panel discussions on all four days of the trade fair.
 
With the three pillars of a trade fair, a conference and a forum, electronica will provide an all-round platform for automotive electronics.
