U.S. imports of motor vehicle parts in the first quarter of the year 2007 were increased by 3.0% on the year to now 15,2 billion US$. Auto component supplies from Germany gained above average and over the same period increased by 9.6% to approx. 1,5 billion US$. Figures published by USITC (United States International Trade Commission) for the first quarter of the year 2007 indicate that U.S. imports of motor vehicle parts, despite reduction in demand on the ultimate consumer market, continue to be on their way up. Auto Component Manufacturers from Germany belong to the winners!

Already in the fiscal 2006, German supplies to the USA (according to SITC 784, 713.2 and 778.3) rose with +5.5% to approximately 5,6 billion US$ quicker than the whole U.S. import within this segment.

From 10/20 – 10/22/2008 the „CONVERGENCE - Vehicle Electronics Converging on Real Customer Needs“ will take place in Detroit, the leading US Exhibition on Electronics, Communication and Navigation Technologies, Safety Engineering and fuel cells for the segments automobile, commercial vehicles and the Aerospace Industry.
