The results from the 78th Geneva International Automobile Show were extremely positive. The nearly 715,000 visitors far exceeded the organizers’ goals and expectations. A large number of visitors expressed their intentions to buy new cars at the show or soon after. The exhibitors were very satisfied with the quality of the 78th edition of the Geneva Auto Show.
 
Close to 10,000 representatives from the print, audio-visual, and electronic media came from all over the world, which is another new record. The coverage of the show was very broad and extremely positive. They confirmed the importance of the Geneva International Automobile Show as one of the ‘Top 5’ in the world.
 
This year 130 world or European premieres were announced. This is the broadest range of new models the show has ever seen, from the least expensive car in the world to the most exclusive one. This year the public’s attention was also drawn to numerous displays of new environmentally-friendly technology. In addition, there was an increased representation of manufacturers from developing countries, whose models are following all of the latest trends. The displays and activities in front of the main entrance, have also enjoyed an enthusiastic attendance by the public. The new Hall 71 has proven to be a great success. It offers 5,000 square meters of additional space, providing daily contests, numerous games consoles, souvenir stands and plentiful eating opportunities, delighting a large number of visitors of all ages.

The next edition is planned for 5 to 15 March 2009.
