The Indian automotive industry has witnessed an unprecedented
boom in recent years, owing to the improvement in living standards of the
middle class, and a significant increase in their disposable incomes. With the
launch of the world’s most economical car, India has become the global hub for
its cost-competitive and technologically advanced automotive products.
With 2,105 exhibitors, more than 1,200,000 visitors
and an exhibition area of 125,500 sqm , AUTO EXPO is India’s largest and most important
event for automobiles and automotive components. Taking place every two years,
AUTO EXPO is and ideal platform for the international automotive industry. The
event is recognised by many international companies as a gateway to the large
Indian market. For many exhibitors, including a range of global market leaders,
the exhibition has become a regular date in the diary.
Continuing on the Theme “Mobility for all”, the 10th
Auto Expo 2010 scheduled from 5 to 11 January 2010 at Pragati Maidan, New
Delhi, India, had a special emphasis on safe and environment-friendly
fuels/vehicles, design and engineering. Auto Expo 2010 had also focus pavilions
besides other displays as in previous shows.
The German official participation covered more than
500 sq.m. of space in Hall 1A. Nineteen German companies from the automotive
suppliers sector participated in the official participation. Apart from the
companies within the German Pavilion, more leading German suppliers and also
the German leading carmakers, like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, etc., presented
their products at Auto Expo 2010.
